Madeleine Fox artist
My work is inspired by the natural world and the need to protect it.
With a background in stage design, after graduating in London I worked in various theatres as a scenic artist before returning to Cardiff where I continued to paint and exhibit alongside a full-time teaching career.
- I see my canvas as a stage for a performance !
My current work focusses on forests, skies and oceans. I find looking up at the colours of the sky overwhelming- at times heavy and wild - at others soft and quiet . Through my paintings I enjoy looking at the effect of dappled. sun light filtering between the trees creating a stunning contrast with the darker depths..
i am mesmerised by the beauty of the oceans .and the way the underwater creatures respond with underwater murmurations to the warmth of the sun‘s rays.
Conservation of our world is vital
